Chameleon Colors

I was just wondering if the owner has any control over the chameleons coloring characteristics. If you gut load your feeders with certain foods does that make a difference or is it all genetics? Just hit or miss on having a well marked chameleon?

They are all different....literally, there are no two chameleons that are exactly the same (like fingerprints).
Certainly your cham will look his best if he's as healthy as he can be (fed well gut-loaded feeders and supplemented properly, well hydrated etc.) but beyond that the food has very little, if anything, to do with the brightness of color or color itself.

i would be lucky to have my little guy grow up into the male you have in your display picture, your a lucky owner

a little off topic but anyway.. i was just wondering brad, i have a male veiled. about 6-7 weeks old. growing like crazy and i was just wanting to know your thoughts on when i could start to introduce new feeders. my staples are crickets but i wanted to see if Romeo likes other insects as well. your thoughts?

At that age I was offering small waxworms (didn't have any silkworms but those would be great too!)
Roach nymphs would be awesome!
Also, go ahead and start offering a collard green leaf clipped to a branch and see what happens.

well i will definitely try that and let you know how it goes, i had a veiled a few years ago and he didn't really like worms so much so i hope Romeo does
