Chameleon choked on dripping water.

I was watching Kiddo(3 months male Veiled) drinking water from the dripper; then I saw him choke and doing some gesture with his throat as if he's going to vomit, but no vomit. After he finished his weird gestures, his black dots and stripes appeared.

Maybe I have my dripper dripping too fast and it dropped too much as he was trying to get one drop? It's really difficult to set a good dripping rhythm with the Zoo Med Drippers, it's either too much or none at all! I'm planning to make my own dripper and get rid of the Zoo Med Dripper.

I attached a airflow valve used for fishtanks. They have a control tap which is easier to control.:)

YESS!!! My chameleon has the same problem. I think the drip is too fast for them to swallow, so it goes into their air canals. I think the throat thing is them coughing. I also only notice this when the drip is too fast:confused:

I got a plastic cup and poked a hole in the bottom with a needle. Drips all day and about a drop every 4 seconds or so.

Started doin this with my new cham because I hadn't bought a dripper yet and I actually ended up not buying a dripper and even replacing my other chams zoo med dripper with the cup.
