Right, I’ve had a few discussions with successful local breeders (and a few on here) and I just want to see if I am on the right track to having a good care schedule for my cham.
I will soon have a 3-month-old male panther chameleon.
Young
Viv – Small glass enclosure, well ventilated
UV – Reptisun 10.0 18 inch tube, fitting and reflector
Heat – Thermometer, Clamp lamp or similar 75w red/amber basking bulb
Roughly 65° F (18.3° C) at night and 80° F (32.2° C) during the day
Humidity – Hygrometer, mist as needed, small dripper
Décor – plants, vines and branches for climbing and basking– no loose substrate
Diet – gut loaded Locusts (small), every day
Mealworms, every few days
Wax worms (treats)
Supplements - Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun - Calcium
Tues, Thurs, Sat - Calcium & D3
Adult
Viv – Large semi-screen enclosure e.g. a screen enclosure with the back and one side plastic covered (will be up against a wall anyway, don’t want my walls getting ruined)
UV – Reptisun 10.0 24 inch tube, fitting and reflector
Heat – Thermometer, Heat source & fitting red/amber/ceramic bulb
65° F (18.3° C) at night
80° F (32.2° C) during the day (90° F basking spot)
Humidity – Hygrometer, Mist 2-3 times daily, large dripper
Décor – Plants, vines, branches for climbing and basking – no loose substrate
Diet – Mainly gut loaded Locusts(larger), every other day
Mealworms, every few days or so
Wax worms (treat)
Supplements - Mon, Fri - Calcium
Thurs, Sat - Calcium & D3
Does this sound about right? Im open to suggestions but as for the glass enclosure when its still young, I have been told by quite a few successfull breeders/owners that this is suitable to my needs, baring in mind i live in england and the temps aren't that great.
I may have missed stuff out but if you think i have just ask/suggest please!
