Chameleon burn infection

I recently got a chameleon and realized that his lights were hung too low. He got burned and at first it didn't look as bad. I have now hung the lights to a safe height and no more burns have occurred. His burn now looks infected, and this worries me? Any suggestions?

That looks bad. Have you been applying Silver Sulfadiazine Cream?
If he were mine I'd take him to the vet.

I'll try the cream since my mom doesn't want to go to the vet and thanks
