Chameleon acting weird on day 1?

I got a beautiful 4.5 month old blue ambanja male sired by Bonsai today. I just want to make sure that what he is doing is normal. He hasn't eaten any of his crickets since he arrived today. He also has been staying on the same branch under his basking light. He is on this branch sideways. Completely sideways. His body is parallell to the ground. And lastly he has his eyes closed a lot, and it looks like he keeps sucking his eyeballs in when he blinks. If anyone has any ideas about if this is normal or not, please let me know. Thanks

Once you've made sure he has water droplets on his leaves to drink from and rehydrate do your best not to stare at him. He should settle in in a couple days. He may not eat until then.
If your cage has lots of hiding places he will settle in faster. Think jungle.

Being behind the branch tells me that he feels insecure with you around. This little guy might have been raised by someone of the opposite sex and might not be used to massive creatures looking at it like it is their next meal! He sounds scared. Give him some space, don't stare at him (I know, I know, that I am practically telling you to go to your corner as if you were naughty) he will adjust and addapt and get use to you! He is just new to all of you!
Also look around the room from hid perspective! Can he see any pictures of, or real live creatures that could feel like a predator to him? Do you have any other pets that are in the room or come in to the room with or without you being present? Do you have any pictures of birds of pray, cats, wolfs etc. on the wall?

Hope this helps!
