Chamaeleo africanus project blog

I received a pair today as well, and 20 minutes from being out of their boxes and out in the huge outdoor cage in the sun, they were mating. I couldnt believe it:)

Awesome! I have yet to introduce mine. We will have to keep in touch. Some possible trades in the future ;). I am almost positive that one of my females is quite gravid.

Your so lucky to own these, and mating already, now thats amazing.:D Seriously guys, i hope these work out for you and we see plenty of CB around. I think depending on price these could be more popular than veileds! Im gonna look for some over here in Germany. Could you PM me the price you paid for each one so i have an idea what to expect if i find some.

Dont think theyll be as popular as veilds if that were to happen but who knows. The males dont get a huge casque which impresses most people, and these chameleons seem to be very shy and skittish, which Im not sure would go away if they were cb.

showjet95: Are you planning on leaving them outside in the large cage or just giving them some sun and a little (bonding) time.

I agree on the casque issue, but I think they may calm a bit more when CB. When breeding WC I always find that the offspring are always a little more calm than the parents. Have you noticed this?

Also, do you plan on any special supplements for the adults and offspring?
