Cham staying darker colors?

So lately my veiled chameleon that is 6 months old has been farely darker in skin color. When he was younger, he had a bright green coloration but now its this dark brown. I want to confirm that this is one of those normal fases when they are "teens" to get that darker brown color. He also turns light green when sleeping.

If he's acting normally, eating and drinking, and turning green while asleep that's probably it.
