Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
Normal, brown/white, tested no parasite
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
I worry that I may have over supplemented when he was young
Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.
when I got up today he was sleeping upside down with his face in the bottom of his ficus. I picked him up and he isn't moving very fast acts very sluggish his grip doesn't seem as strong as normal, most of yesterday sat on side of ficus pot, only went to bask twice.

when you say face down was he still hanging on to somthing and head was just in dirt or was he completely on the ground. im understanding it was just his head but thought id double check. was it extra cold there at all last couple nights i know it was here. you dont have any open windows around him maybe ?

He was hanging on a branch Lance with the top part of him body hanging such that his face was down in the plant. It has been cold here the last few nights but my cham room is temp controlled, believe me they don't get cold, they even have a back up generator in case ther power would be off.

I have one cham that acts that way (side of his ficus, down lower to sleep, as well nose down along the branch) usually at the beginning of a shed cycle.

I don't see anything in your info that jumps out that could cause this change, other than what was mentioned - temp?

I notice though, he seems to only eat super worms? I wonder if this could be causing some irritation to him? I see you are gut loading them well, but I still wonder if the amount of 'fat' content they have is an issue? I would try variation in his diet and you may see an improvement overall. After all, each feeder has it's benefit/downside - if fed too much.

I know you are correct that he needs different types of food but he is stubborn and I usually give in to him rather that let him go without eating. I think I am a pushover and he knows it.:(

He won't take to horns or silks? My guys would only eat those if I allowed that..lol.

I don't have any horn worrms but he sure doesn't want silkies or roachs. Like I say crickets only after several days with out eating.

Laurie,

I know others are talking about food, but I want to get off this subject for a moment.

while I'm sure I'm way off base here, but personaly, I would want to see if some added stimuli would help.
in otherwords, if the weather permits, try taking him outside in the warm sun and see if it would help give him some insentive to start acting normal again.
in fact, try 3 or 4 days in a row if posable.
even if it's just for an hour or two, it could purk up his stregnth.

as much as I hate to say it, even our best UVB and UVA bulbs have to be missing some things that the real sun provides.

so try getting him outside for a few days, and maybe just seeing your nice yard and a few bugs flying by could pick up his spirits.

all the best,
Harry

Great idea Harry, I think Buddy and I will go out as soon as it gets a little warmer than the current 52 degrees. We have has cooler than usual temps with rain and I know that won't make him happy. But with luck we can go out later today or tomorrow. Thanks.
