Ok preparing to get my first Cham! I live where weather goes from 0 to 90's so I just wanted to double check and make sure I'm getting the lighting 100%
UVB r the long thin (tube) bulbs Like the ones that go on fish tanks right? And I defently need one UVB I know. Now the heat lights are like the metal round ones people get for like baby chickens I know the 5.0 is the one that's Cham safe. Now what type of bulb should I get cuz I hear that theirs like night bulbs that keep heat and the Cham can't c it cuz the light color. So basically I just need to know what kind of heat bulb to buy! Thanks guys!!
Also got sow bugs crickets and mealworms going debating if I'm ganna get dubia roaches again! Cuz I'm not getting a big Cham and I don't have anything that could eat adults other than my snapping turtle. Thanks guys/girls!

People normally buy reptiglo or reptisun uvb bulbs. as for basking (heat) bulbs. a regualr 50-60 watt house bulb is just fine.
Chams can see lights. they need total darkness to sleep. and they like a 10-15 deg drop in temp at night.

The 5.0 is the UVB you want. You definitely don't need a "night" bulb. Chams need a night time temp drop, and darkness. Depends on your set-up, and the species for what basking light you will need, possibly nothing more than a regular 60 watt bulb.
We are in Pa also, so we understand the temp range. lol

For UVB you'll want a Reptisun 5.0 or Reptiglo 5.0 tube light. Yes, they look similar to aquarium lights.

You won't need any lighting at night. For daytime basking you will want either a house bulb or basking bulb. The wattage would depend on the size and type of cage you're using. I use a 75w Sun Glo bulb on my 2'x2'x4' aluminum screen cage.

I have a veiled though, so my specifications may not be correct for you. It would be helpful to know which type of chameleon you are preparing to get. :)

I'm ganna get either a rudis or Dessert side stripe from lllreptile.com I'd prefer the rudis cuz it gets bigger but not huge but they r out of stock and probably won't b in. So temps lower than vields. My cage is 2x2x4 but I have to take 3inchs off the top cuz the roof sits down in.
