So i put googles outside and i sprayed her and doused her plant, and i came back about 30 minutes later and there was still water on the plant so it couldnt be too hot, and googles was laying on the bottom, on an angle like she was sun bathing. And when i spraye her she got up and climbed on the plant. Is she too hot? something wrong? or just sun bathing? Also idk why but for the past week she has been defecating while she is sitting down and getting urate on her feet, tail, and belly. Pretty gross! Any one that can give useful information would be appreciated! Thank You!

Edit: she was in her screen cage and was sitting on the plastic pvc bottom.

Laying or standing with its side turned to the sun? If it was standing, it was propbly angling itself to the sun to soak up more heat/uv.
Never leave it unattended outside. They can die from overheating FAST.
Not to mention other hazards, cats , birds etc.
No idea about the defecation thing though.
Is it ok now?

Sometimes they will bask on the bottom of the cage as you descibed. Can't really explain the other part of her deficating while she is sitting on the ground.

i have her in the scren cage on my balcony, but she has at leat half her cage in the shade, she is walking around fine, i have put her outside before, actually been going on for about 2 weeks. I wasnt sure, but i did kind of think she was trying to angle herself to soak up the sun.

Are there any other signs of overheating besides gaping and walking on the ground?

Never saw any gaping, and i have not seen her walking or clawing at the ground, whenever i see her on the ground she is literally sitting, and i get worried so i spray her, even if there is water on her plant still. When i spary her she gets up and crawl right on her ficus. Maybe its nothing just wanted to be sure.

BTW thank for letting me know other chams bask on the ground Lance, puts my nerves at rest.

Ok now im worried, i left googles in my room today and the temp was about 75 and she was still on the ground, she is no where near big enough to be producing eggs, so if she wants to do the whole digging thing all over again should i let her? or can something else be wrong?

Does she have an egg laying container. I had one lay a clutch of 27 infertile eggs at barely 6 months old. Never showed gravid color and never got big AT ALL. eggs were very small and flat when layed compared to plump big fertile eggs.
