Chalky white poo

So I've only have my Veiled since Sunday. I saw him eat one cricket right away and "I think" I saw him chewing on another. I haven't actually seen him eat or drink since but crickets are disappearing. I threw 1/2 dozen in when I got home from work and although I didn;t see him eat, they were gone when I looked 15 min's later.

The question. I only see one piece of poop in the bottom of the cage during the 48 hrs I've had him and the whole thing is chalky white looking. No brown, black, orange...the whole piece is white...thoughts?

you sure that is not the urate(pee)? I sounds like it is. The urate is white, the poop is brown or black. the poop could have fallen off and is maybe in the bottom of a plant, stuck on a leaf, etc. Check the cage well you will be suprised what you might find!

OK - will do. I just assumed the brown poo would be fused to the urate. I'll poke around and see what I can see.

He's eating good tonight, maybe just needed a couple days to settle in :)

I agree with Carol on this - the poop and urates may fall onto branches etc on their way to the bottom, and sometimes the urates may be separated from the poop so they don't land on the bottom (or wherever) together. Also, sometimes a cham may produce a urate without the poop.

Happy to report you two were bang on.

I found more poop with the "poop" part attached to the urate and that's exactly what the white "pellet" I saw was, it just broke away from the rest.

Glad you found some more! Sounds like he's well hydrated too with a nice white urate. If it ever turns orange/yellow then it means he is dehydrated and needs to drink more.
