Ceftazidime as a subcutaneous injection?

my 6 month old panther is getting ceftazidime, and I am being instructed to inject it subcutaneously every 3 days. It is a treatment for a respiratory infection. Everybody's posts are showing IM in the legs...

Should I be concerned?

Try to inject between the scales--you can bend a needle on their skin. Also, pull the syringe out quickly so the skin snaps shut and the medication doesn't leak out.

Be sure to inject into the upper half of the body, front arms\biceps are usually best. Injecting into the lower half like the back legs will hit the kidneys first because of how a chameleon's renal system works. Ceftazidime is very well tolerated and safe for chameleons, no need to worry.

Thanks guys, first injection was very easy. No problems at all. He's a pretty easy going little guy and the needle is TINY. I'm feeling good about it and he's eating like a horse again today. All good news.

How is he now my chameleon is also on this
