Carpet cham set-up

Hi,

This is the trial set-up for the 2-3 month old carpet cham I'm picking up on saturday.

Dripper will located at the back, as will the basking lamp. I'm going to cover the plant soil with stones. I'm also considering getting a flexible plastic tray for the bottom.

Any tips would be appreciated! I'm wondering if more foliage is needed.

*sigh* sorry about the missing pictures & the post being in the wrong place. I'm having so much trouble with tapatalk! Please bear with me :)

Here we go! good old laptop :)

It looks good to me. I have some of the plastic green fencing around the edge of my cages to attach vines and sticks/branches too. Monty also uses it like a climbing frame even though he is a bit big now, lol! What size is that viv? I take it that the top houses tubes rather than the compact UV bulbs? You could
always upload the pic to facebook and tag Julian to get his opinion.

Thanks :)

It's a compact bulb, a screw-in 1, will that cause him problems? The cage is 12x12x18", we're hoping it will be ok for 1-2 months. We're going to order an adult cage when we pick him up.

That's a good idea, think I'll post a pic to mujiworld. I'm already planning to get some more fake plants to go on the sides of the cage. I'm taking a notepad & pen with me on saturday, I have many questions!

Most people steer clear of the compacts as some (not all of them) have caused eye problems in chameleons. I would double check with Julian about it. Another question for the list!

lol the poor OH, every time we think it's all sorted I announce something else needs replacing! He said he'd be a rich man if he lived alone... good job he secretly loves all the animals!

I think your cage look good. I agree attaching something for your cham to have more high ways is good. I think you pretty well have it covered. Most of the screw in uvb over here are the new ones are are ok. I can't speak for what you have over there.

Your thread looks to be in the correct place.
