Carpenter Ants

Help!!! I've been invaded by Carpenter Ants! They've targeted some of Gonzales' food (crickets & waxworms) and wiped out half of them. They're somehow getting into his cage too and are going after his crickets in their too (cup feeding has had to stop for now because of them). Not many in their at least.

What can I do to get rid of these demons? The raid traps don't seem to work at all. I've had to resort to giving the crickets a moat around their cricket keeper. Not much I can think of to do for the few that get into Gonzales' cage until we can finish building the new one.

i don't know if this really works but until you can get rid of them, I have been told that they won't cross dryer sheets. If it is true it is easier than a moat. I feel for you I hate ants. We were invated a couple of times when we lived in Southern Calif. I still think all of Orange County is built on an ant hill.

my house gets invaded evey june...i kill like 4 a day...they are in the walls i think:eek:

lay out a big worms or a few dead crickets......poision the crickets with massive amounts of poision...they will take the meal to the colony and hopefully kill off a few...then repeat......you have to be the ant...to kill the ant.

The bait won't work when you have food scraps available in your cham's cage.
track their point of entry. Find the nest, if you can.
Then pour a boiling water down that nest/
put diatomaecous soil around the nest/
introduce Steinernemae Feltiae for even better kill.

Sounds mean? I hate ants.. that's why...
