Sometimes female chameleons will dig more than one tunnel. Its like a test run to make sure its the best spot to lay her eggs. Has she only messed with one dig site? Also is she still taking food and water well?
This is something I found searching the web for you.
(Try not to let the female see you when she is digging...it can lead to abandonment of the hole. If she abandons the hole often enough, it can lead to eggbinding and death. A female may dig the same hole for more than one day/time or may dig more than one hole before she is satisfied that its a good place to lay the eggs.....this is normal.)
