Cant get cham to cup feed

Hi fellas, my cham is about to be 3 months old.
Bought him as a 1.5 month old which i know was risky but he eats and poops so i cant complain
He is actually just starting to show his blue bars and some green on his face.. ANYWAYS
..
I need to get him to cup feed due to the fact that he will be getting placed in his permanent cage 5 tall 4 wide 2 deep.
I know finding food will be real hard for him and he doesnt tong feed either. I place the cup under his fav spot but he wont take to it.. what have you guys done? leme know

Time and patience. He is still very young, I am sure he will catch on. My guy is young too and I just keep putting it in there for him but he likes the hunt, can't say I blame him although I would much rather someone bring me a hamburger rather than having to go out and get the food myself.....happens as you get older I guess

What kind of bowl are you using? I alway take what ever crickets are left in there before the lights go out and toss them in the bowl so they are there the next morning. I try dubias everyday but he prefers crickets at the moment, so I thought I would mix them together and maybe he will be me more intrigued.

is it too deep? ill cut it down if so.
the crix also seem to get out of it too cuz i have to lean it so the cham can get in with a branch.. ughh HELP!!!

Hi! The cup may be a bit too deep, he won't starve himself as long as he has access to the cup. I would suggest putting a vine in, not touching the bottom though so the feeders can't climb out. Where the cup is placed is the right way to go. Even a small bird ladder into the cup may work.

How soon is he being moved to the new cage? Why is he being moved? That is a HUGE amount of space for a little guy, depending on what kind of enclosure you have now you may want to hold off on that, just my opinion though. You can also count how many cricks you put into the cup to keep track of what he's eating, I did that for the first while with my little guy, I got him at 6weeks as well. Hope this helps!

hes being moved to feel more secure since he will have more brush ti hide in.. im not movin him till he gets the idea of cup feeding

I use the glad cups like the one in the pic. I set these up in juvi and adult cages using the green tie wire in the garden section at lowes or home depot. The wire is stiff enough to make a loop that the cup just sits in so you can easily remove it for cleaning.

I suggest multiple DARK-coloured containers. Larger is better (so that the prey moves around more).
