Looks normal to me. Could be muscle. Do you have different thickness of branches to climb on? perhaps your branches a bit thick making him need to grasp harder creating more muscle. Youve got a body building cham!!! lol 
I have a WC on my thread titled Masoala Have a look at his ankles on page 2. He is enormous! I think I was wrong naming him Masoala too, he is from Cap Est which is in Masoala region but a seperate locale to Masoala.
