My first reaction would be NO. Because at the base of the fronds (leaves) of the Canary, there are extremly sharp spikes. I have gotten pricked by them many times trying to weed around them in my yard and boy do they sting!!

Ok thanks I just thought I'd check because a parlour palm is ok n I happened to have a few canary island palms lol never mind thanks
