Can they be raised without lighting?

Not to call this guy out, he is obviously doing something right with his animals.

Just curious how he can raise these animals with no apparent lighting. How would be even provide basking and UV exposure in such setups? (look towards the end of the page)

I don't see a UV light. I know he said the cages are by a window. Hopefully the windows are open as the beneficial rays doesn't go through most glass windows. I wouldn't think the UV penetrates the plastic tubes either.
This is definitely not recommended doing it this way.

Dont even think about raising them in tubs like that. Perhaps those are just where he keeps them post payment/ pre-shipping? He did mention a large outdoor enclosure. Tubs are still dodgy but lets not crucify them, no point anyway.
Personally If I was buying animal and saw those Images, I wouldn't bother.

UV penetrates plastic yes but not to 100% some of it bounce back but yes , he uses an outdoor enclosure.

These are obviously imports meant to be resold. Not housed permanently. A few weeks without sun, provided D3 be dosed at least once a week, is not going to do most chams any harm.
