are lighter colors signs of stress or are darker one are. i ask because i just moved my cage from the bathroom (were he was by his self) to the living room. since being in the living room (were there are kids running around ) i dont know if he minds us being around cause all he does is sets there and bask he only seems to run away when i try to see if he is o.k. He is still eating;and if he is not basking he is a bright green so i dont know if he is happy or not

Hm, both of them can be for stress. When my chameleon comes out of his cage he becomes very light colors, because he is afraid of me possibly. When he is angry or stressed he also could become dark.

It depends.

Stress can cause light colors or dark. It depends on the situation really. My chameleons never seemed to mind people in the room or my Cockatiel for that matter. None of them liked my dog though. Every chameleon is different, and yours may or may not be bothered by something in the new room or the people in it.
