now the guy at the pet shop told me don't worry about the humidity but I think he knows nothing about chams, soo I was wondering if anybody can tell me where to get a good digital thermometer/hygrometer for my terarium that I am setting up. thanks

Try the Zilla Combo here.

Or you could go the cheaper route, Zoo Med Gauges here.

I hope this is helpful! And tell that petstore guy that he's a turd...humidity matters!

Humidity, from what i have read and tried so far, isn't the biggest issue in keeping a Panther or a Veiled chameleon. Basically, there is three moments when they need higher humidity. The rest of the time, the humidity in your room should be enough.

The three moments are: early in the morning, before sleeping, and whenever the temperatures are higher than recommanded (for example, if your chameleons are housed outside, higher humidity and misting help them to stay healthy if it's too hot).

However, most people will recommend a good 60 to 80% humidity all the time, which is also very fine. I think this is the best for a beginner.

The Zilla combo is what i use now, and it seems very nice, unexpensive and very useful. Overall, i don't think i'll ever use something else!

I just got the zilla. Seems alright. Make sure you don't get the body wet, I've seen people complain about frying them. You can put it in a plastic bag then velcro it to the outside of the cage and run the probes in,
