Can someone help me?

Does she have a way to access the bin easily? How wide is the bin?

She absolutely does not look thin and as she recently pooped, she's recently eaten.

She doesn't move around much, at least, I always see her on the same branch area, sometimes shes not there, but most of the time its where she sits. Uh, she's always been hissy when I got near her. She doesn't like people much, haha. But once she's out of the cage, shes fine. Uhm, the bucket the sand is in, is a normal big bucket.

Normal big paint bucket? Normal big trash bucket? See the problem? Just a ball park for outer dimensions would be helpful. I've seen people say they put a "bucket" in and it turned out to be a small flower pot.

And, again, does she have easy access to the bin? Can she climb directly down into it or does she have to go to the bottom, then climb up into it?

Unless you're watching 24/7, she probably does move much more than you think. Mine play statue when I walk in, and if they are out of their normal positions when I walk in, they return to "normal" in this super slow motion, bionic chameleon sort of way that just cracks me up. But, based on where I find poop and where I see the plant eaten, I know they travel.

They are "territorial" animals and seem to pick one area to be "home base"....they'll go away from home base, come back, head out in another direction, go back home, etc... so to us, it tends to look like they are always very close to the same place.

I think it's quite possible she's just getting to be all growed up and doesn't need so much food anymore......do you know what exactly she's had to eat this week?

She hasn't eaten at all, at least not to my knowledge. She has a cup in her cage with her food in it, which is lobster roaches right now, because I thought she had gotten bored of having crickets. But she hasn't eaten any of them. That's why I am asking so many questions, I want to know why she isn't eating :c

Okay, so today I brought my chameleon outside, and stuck her in the bush in my front yard, and she turned green. I was so excited to see her that colour again, so I'm pretty sure shes always stressed because her cage needs more plants in it, so I'm planning on buying one. I really want to hear your suggestions on live plants you guys use. I really want to get a ficus tree, but I can't find any real ones around here, they are all mostly silk or artificial. Could you guys help me out with this. c: Thanks.

I have in my vivs a Schefflera, a dragon tree (dracaena), a castor oil plant, a yucca, some ivy...........the most often recommended would be Pothos for many reasons though (broad leaves to drink from and hide behind, viney and easy to position, easy to keep alive)

So I bought a Schefflera today and put it in her cage, and she loves it. She isn't brown, and went back to being green. So I think all she wanted was more hiding places since there was so much open space in her cage. And this plant will help keep the humidity up. And she loves climbing in it. So I think that's why she was always stressed and brown. Because she is back to being green now. Thanks for all your help c: I really appreciate it.

Great to hear. Glad your cham is happy again. :)

:) Good stuff, You didn't need us at all did you? You were planning on getting new plants anyway.......As long as she's happy again, that's what counts. Let us know when she's eating properly again, won't you?

Eggs

So yesterday I found my chameleon digging in the dirt of the plant in her cage. So I put the bucket of sand back in her cage. And today, when I checked on her during the day, she had been near the bucket, a vine right above it, then later I did, and she was digging, so I left her alone the whole day and when I went upstairs to put her lights off for the night, she's sitting in the bucket, with eggs below her in the hole she dug. I'm so proud of her.

Is there anything I need to do? Or should I just leave her alone?

Yay! What a good girl. Make sure she has food, go a bit heavy on the calcium to help her replace what she lost. I think I'd let her leave the eggs on her own.

Well she left her eggs after having them, and is now back up in the vines. Is it safe to take them out now? And I have a ton of crickets in her cage, heavily dusted, not too heavy, but more than usual. I'm not sure if she's eating them though, cause I can't really keep count of a lot of crickets. But this morning when I was watching her cage when I was laying in bed, I saw her try to catch a cricket that was crawling on the side of her cage, but she missed him. Which was sort of depressing, but makes me feel alittle better that she attempted to eat something. that means she probably is eating when I'm not up there, hopefully.

So yeah, i was wondering if I could take the eggs out now?

You can take the eggs out now. Let us know how many she laid...if its too many you may want to control her diet, etc. so that her next clutch will be smaller.

Well I took her eggs out, and well, Im not sure what a lot of eggs are for a chameleon, but this is definitely a lot. She had 30. Which is amazing to me, cause shes still so very small.
But what would you suggest? For a diet? or like anything? Cause she seems very thin now that she has laid her eggs.

Drainage

Do you guys have any good tips on drainage? From spraying the cage and having the drip system, I don't have any good ideas for catching the water.
