Can chameleons feel and recognize UVB?

without a shadow of a dought, they can tell when they need more and where it is to go get some more.

Well in nature. The UVB and a, obviously come from one source....the sun, but in chameleons enclosures this obviously is sperated, so yeah, they will go under each when they feel the need for it.

Chameleons detect UVB via the pineal gland , often referred to as the "third Eye". If your cham is spending excessive time under the UVB source, it may indicate that the UVB output of your bulb is waning. Might be time for a replacement.

It can also be that she is producing eggs. Do you have a suitable place for her to dig in the cage so you will know when she's ready??

My chams free range and they have always gone to sit under the UVB blub only when they want. They spend hours each day other places besides under the UVB.
