i recently has a leopard gecko who got very ill, was very thin, not eating, sometimes would vomit so i took her to the vet and she is having feacal samples tested. I havnt got the results yet but was thinking, if she has parasites or crypto could my chameleon of caught it?
Although recently ive been careful to wash hands etc i havnt always been.

Bit worried now although he in himself is fine.

thanks

Since they are both reptiles, the chances for cross infection is high.
Isn't Cryptosporidium is one of coccidian parasites?
Ouch.. sorry to hear that. But, get that Gecko out of your chameleon's room and quarantine him.

Agreed. It might be good to get a fecal for your cham after you move the gecko and get everything cleaned up. Wash your hands like crazy before and after handling either. Cross contamination is fast and easy.

I hope everything turns out well.

oh great.

well the gecko isnt mine anymore. I didnt have the money to get her to a herp vet because they are over an hour away from me and i dont drive so someone has taken her on who can pay the bill.
If i have to get my cham tested, i dont know how im going to do it - same problem, herp vet is too far away and i dont have the money to get there :(
