Can anyone help a fella out ?

Sorry no one who has the exact type you have has responded yet, I have a different brand and the probe on mine gets soaked every day and still works fine, best ask a mfg rep or someone at the co you purchased it from to be sure. I think most are designed to take a soaking but I could be wrong  It wouldn't be the first or last time :D I hope you get the answer you need, sorry I cant be more help!

The probe itself should be water proof, though if its soaked it may give you a high RH reading.

The digital display is what you want to keep dry.

I have the exo terra that has a split screen, humidity on one side and temp on the other. It gets wet everyday without issue so far.

I have the Zilla brand dual Thermometer plus Hygrometer. Both probes get soaked 4 times a day and so far no problems
