Can anyone explain?

Hi all, today is a sad day my chameleon died.

Thing is there doesn't seem to be any reason!
I woke up yesterday and he was hanging upside down so i called the vet and he said this was fine sometimes they do that and i shouldn't worry...So i left him for a few hours and he just didn't move. I decided to take him outside in his enclosure(which I'd done loads of times) for some fresh air and natural light and 10 min later when I came back he was lying on the ground dead! WHY?! He had eaten the day before and had water too so that has nothing to do with it.
Any ideas? Please?

Was he wild caught or captive bred? If wild caught it could of been for a variety of reasons like parasites or preexisting conditions. How long did you have him, where did you get him, what kind of cham was it?

also, just throwing this out there, but reptiles are very sensitive to smoke and if you happened to have smoked around him, it might have worrsened the problem

Baby Chameleon help please!

Hi i just got a Bradypodion pumilum (cape dwarf chameleon) it's 5 days old...i bought it an enclosure and everything is fixed up, but it doesn't seem to eat? he hasn't eaten (i think) in 4 days...what must i do???? Somebody told me to try force feed it by holding open its mouth and putting food in it...i really dont wanna do that, he's tiny, about the size of my thumb and think it will hurt him....I have baby crickets the size of his head in a little bowl with a branch over it for him to get them but still nothing??? please help im worried...

I am so sorry for your loss. Is this the little guy you lost?

The breeder sold you a baby 5 days old? Thats irresponsible of a breeder. Babies really shouldn't be sold until they are at least a month or so along. And then only to an expierenced keeper. 3-4 months is better for a newbie cham owner. If you decide to get another try somethiing a little more hardy a veiled or a panther and get one thats a little older. I know its fun watching a baby grow but unless you have experience raising babies you are better off getting an older animal. And sorry for your loss. We have all lost some just be sure to learn from your mistakes and not repeat them next time.

There was a reason...we can't even take a guess without more information. Chameleons are experts at hiding their health problems. In the wild, a cham that shows any sign of being sick becomes a target for predators. By the time something seems wrong to us they have been sick quite a while. It could have had problems before you ever got it.
