Can anybody help me find a chameleon?

I picked one out and was about to buy him when I got an email saying he had been sold :(

I would REALLY love one that looks like this (or will when he's older):

Fosco%20-%202.JPG

I want a juv. male, and those are my only requirements.

I'm afraid to look around at too many other breeders and classifieds and stuff, since I don't know who's reputable and who's not.

If nobody can find one that looks like that, I have a few others picked out. I don't like them as much, though :(

Thanks.

you most likely want an ambanja,

give Vegas chad a message, he might have what your looking for *he had one in tucson if i recall last*.

Thanks for the help. I will definitely look through the classifieds.

I was going to buy one of Fosco's offspring, but they have already been sold and I was told that they wouldn't be expecting any more from him for quite a while.

Oh wow already??! If you really like the blue, check out the NOSY Be section...I just got one from them a week ago and hes simply amazing. Curafiin and Roland SIREs.

I looked there and I do like Roland. I fell in love with Fosco and Bilbo, and now I can't find any other chameleons that look like them. I really like the blue background with the darker bars (blue, green, reddish, or purple). But I think I will get one of Roland's babies if I can't find anything else. He's gorgeous; I would just like it more if his bars were darker.

What a shame to miss that one, what stunning blue!
Im sure folk here will be able to point you to something very similar.
Best wishes :)

It may not be very important to you now, but IMO it's better to start out with a pure blood local, that way as you get bit by the bug, breeding is an option if you should ever choose to go down that road. I personally think a mixed local should be a second cham option. And trust me, very few people have the will power to stop at just one.

For what you are looking for, you want an ambanja. There are blue on blues out there and are available from time to time. right now there are some that are really nice on kingsnake even though they may be a tad over priced as he's been trying to sell the same animals for 500 bucks for a couple of months now. I give the guy credit for sticking to his guns, and honestly would look into buying them if I had that kind of money laying around right now. Chuck from Heroic chameleons produces some of the bluest Ambanjas I've ever seen. Sandy from North West is also producing some really really nice blue on blue with the chance of purple bars. Then there is forum member toddnedo with blue on blue sirs...really the list goes on and on. Your best bet is to research old threads in the classified section and look at all the sponsors breeders and send emails to the ones you are interested in talking to. If they don't have anything available right now you can almost bet the bank that they have something cooking or growing out.

edit: To say that, don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with mixed locals. Genetically you are almost guaranteed a strong healthy animal, and just wow on some of the colors they can produce. But to breed one takes a lot of work to find the "right" female, and often selling the offspring can be very problematic. Especially for a new guy to breeding and chameleon genetics. Mixing blood can and often does have less than desirable results where the baby Chaim's color is concerned.
