Can a vet obtain a fecal during the actual visit or is this done by collection prior to?

I have more than one cham and am thinking of taking the gang in at the same time but don't see them all deciding to give up their fecals at once :)

NOT to be a smartass but have you verbally trained your chams to poop on command cause if not then i would guess that he would have to manually insert a probe into your cham and physically remove a sample, although i dont think that may be possible.

Well, as a matter of fact I have trained them to crap on demand. Have you not learned this neat trick yet ? ;)

ACTUALLY, let me clarify.. my mindset was more along the lines of a 'fresh catch', and obtaining 'freshens on all three at once. :)

But as long as they can probe at the vets office, then I shall let them do the honors.

If there's one lined up, ready to go, they should be able to swab a sample. If not, you're gonna need a freshy. Most vets will let you drop it off, as convenient for you, if timing doesn't work out around the appointment. Remember, they need to be fresh and can't be frozen.
