I've noticed alot of people's pictures that they have taken of their chameleons are in really high quality and detail. I am currently looking for a digital camera with a card (not film). I want something that can use different lenses. So my questions are:

-What camera do you use?
-Best camera for the buck? (opinion)

I also live in Canada is that makes any difference.

I use the Nikon D90, and love it, but for only $400 bucks im not sure u can get a digital SLR.

nikon d40 can be had as low as 400$ its all the camera most people need. If you want to change lenses you need an slr and because you want it to use a card it has to be a dslr.
amazon has the d40 @460 or so best camera for the buck, many people's opinion including mine.
Heres the older model rebel xs @530

I am looking for something $400-500

Sorry, please dont look for an dslr, because a good lens has the price of your complete budget.

The most photographers say "dont save money when buying lenses". You get a better picture with a basic-dslr and a very good lens than with a professional-dslr and a very cheap lens.

May be a good compact camera will be better for your budget:

Yeah it is, I've been using the same digital point-and-shoot for years and have been itching to get an SLR for a while. I finally took the jump (today actually) and ordered the Nikon D5000, not as advanced as the D90 but still seems like a great camera for and SLR newb.

This is also a great site for reviews, information, and comparisons
