Okay, this isn't a "What do I do/buy to take wonderful reptile pictures" thread. I think my camera's really pretty decent, and any of the numerous flaws in my pictures is my laziness in not taking the time to sit down with the manual, set the shots up right, etc.
My mother has expressed interest in getting a camera, and her birthday is coming up. Anybody reading this thread is on the web, and therefore is more technologically savvy/computer literate than my mother. Any recommendations on a decent camera for somebody who is never going to do more than point and shoot, and some means of viewing and/or printing the photos? (I know she could just look at them on the camera or on my stepsister's computer, then print out the ones she wants at WalMart; I don't know if there are dedicated View-Your-Digital-Photos devices).
I may be getting her a netbook sometime this year; this will probably be later than the camera, because I'll want to be there and get her comfortable and reasonably safeguarded on the web.
(Lest you get the wrong impression, my mother is a very bright woman and I love her a lot. She just has effectively no computer experience whatsoever to date and is something of a technophobe.)
Much thanks for any advice.
