Cal bread

the bread i have is supposed to be = to 2 cups of milk per one piece. good part of a gutload? i was thinking that the crikets would really like bread anyways. ideas on why or why not?

Bread can be very high in phosphorus, which interferes with calcium absorption. It's generally not recommended for regular use in gutloading for that reason.

bread is filled with too many unatural additives, preservatives, and added vitamins and minerals you may not want. bread is ok for a TEMPORARY gutload for hornworms, but shouldnt be used if the need isnt there, also. right off the bat, i can tell milk (1 or 2%, skim or homo) wouldnt be a good ingredient.

i didnt really think to much into it. just saw cal and thought, yay haha. i need some criket crack.

haha no worries, all the calcium we need comes from great sources of fruits and veggies along with suppliments. i feel dry gutloads should be your nutrient source for vitamins and minerals, fat and protene. while your wet gutloads should contain your majority of calciums and beta carotenes. JMHO, its worked well for me
