Cage sizing

Currently have a 2' L x 2' W x 4' H enclosure for my 9 mo. old male veiled chameleon, Casper. He's kind of small for his age, I think. Only about 11.5 - 12 inches from head to end of his tail. I've attached a picture of the guy for kicks.

Would it be alright to house him in a smaller cage? Around 2' L x 1' W x 2' H

Hes only 9 months old, hes not anywhere close to done growing.
and as an adult, unless hes very very small, he will still need a 2x2x4 cage.

That's pretty small for a male veiled though correct? He's about the size of a female veiled and hasn't been growing nearly as much in the past couple months. He looks big in the pic but like I said, he's only like 11.5 inches or so

im pretty sure my male who is almost 1 yr old, is about that length too.
I will measure him when i get home though if that will make you feel better. ;)

Is your guy eating? how mcuh?
what his basking temp?
and when was the last time he shed?

He's shedding right now, it's at about 90 or so. He eats fine usually. Just a little picky when he's shedding. But either way I just wanna know if he'll have enough room in the smaller cage?

I would still leave him in the bigger cage.
hes not full grown yet.
they can keep growing up to about 2 years old.
i woudl reduce his basking temp a bit though, 85 to 88 is better.

Thats a good looking Veiled.

Well i look at it this way, i have plenty of room in my home. But mannn, i would love a huge condo with a balcony, 2 bathrooms and maybe a pool.

My point is, it ma look large to you and sure he can "live" in a smaller cage. But your Cham should have room to explore.
