Males need at least a 24x24x48 depending on their age but as they get older the 24x24x48 is the way to go.

They both should have large cages, but males get much larger then females. Male should be in a 2X2X4 and a female in a minimum of 18X18X36. I personally keep my females and males in 2X2X4' cages.
