There will be differences of opinion on this. I say 24X24X36 would be absolute minimum. Bigger is always better.
You can get away with a shorter cage by lifting it up higher.
Ok i guess the Bigger is always better rule is same for chams just as fish tanks, my true specialization. I guess ill just spring for a 24x24x48
From what I've heard n read 18x18x36. I had the room so I went with 24x24x48 cages I got from LLL for $79+s&h. The bigger cages give so much more room to do things
Question about your LLL cage, does it come with a removable pvc bottom? If not what kind of bottom does it come with?
Hey guys thaks for all the replies. Once i get my cage set up obviously the next step is getting a cham. For that i am going to a reptile expo in NY. One of the vendors there will be Screameleons, my question for this is: Will the prices of chams at the show from Screamealeons be cheaper than online? Obviously there is no shipping but will there be a noticable price difference?

my 24x24x48 cage basically came with a bunch of pvc pipe, a zip-up screen cover, like a bag, and some clips to clip vines to.
no bottom.
i went down to home depot and got some wood cut to fit the inside of it, and it works great, and it was only about 2 dolla!
interesting idea.how'd you adhere it to the cage?
we didn't! we measured the inside of the viv, all that were a little bit smaller than the outside of it, got it cut by those professional cutter guys, and we just popped it right in! it's easier to clean off and replace that way. there's no extra space either.
the only thing i might get concerned about is the wood rotting, but it hasn't occured with me yet![]()
Interesting sounds like a pretty good idea not to mention cheaper then othersdid create a drainage system with it? If not I think you might wanna look into one, and perhaps to prevent wood rot you could get the wood lamenated or something, that way instead of seeping the water runs right off, but im not an expert with these sort of things so you might want to check with someone who is.

I keep all of my plants inside a little tub for the water to run into. My dripper is located above my schleffaria (sp?) plant now, it used to drip into my lemon tree. I just empty the tubs when they get full! And I've thought about lamenating it, just too lazy lol. I could just get some new wood if it does happen!![]()
