Cage Plans

Countryside Chams

Hey Everyone Iam about to delve into the chameleon keeping experience and was wondering if anyone had some plans for some nice cages. I am thinking about two cages side by side. Something like 6'tall by 3'wide, and maybe 2' deep for each cage. i am wanting to get a pair of ambanjas to keep and possibly breed down the road. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and what do you think about the cage size? I have been researching Panthrs for about three months now, and think that I might be prepared now.

It depends on the age of your chameleon.
I would not but baby chameleons in a cage that size.
That is an adult cage for something more along the line of 1 years old.
I would go more towards half that. 18x18x36
That size cage should work untill they are 6 months old.
The female may be able to stay in evern longer.
If i were you i would buy a cage that size.
you will have several hours of labor and if it is a well put together cage each one will cost about 40 dollars to build.
So, buy a small cage, and custom build your large ones.
Hope that helps

Hello I just built a 6' tall cage by 3' wide 2' back and it only cost me 65$ for the wood but with everything else to make it NICE it cost about 160$ If you live close to montana i can build you one and sell it to you. Check out my thread it is called "zillas new custom cage" i think. It is waterproof, nice looking, has a drain, rock wall on back, and tons more

what do you need to know. check out my thread its called zillas new custom cage. do a search for it

I am glad to hear 18 x 18 x 36 is good until 6mths... i ordered one and was scared it was too big for a young cham.
