cage in the window

i recently moved jackson's cage in front of the window so he can get some natural sunlight. there is some shade for him to seek refuge in if necessary. is this a good idea?? He seems to enjoy it.

Also, i took him outside the other day and he turned SUPER dark brown, almost black, he didn't move much just basked. The weather was nice, and he was very active the rest of the day after i brought him back in. I'm assuming he enjoyed this?? the black color is the only concern

Chams turn black/darker to absorb the sunrays and warm up their bodies. Just like when your outside in a black shirt, it absorbs more heat.

The window should be ok as long as it's not in the winter time and there's a cold draft coming through.

A window does no good if the light is coming through the glass, as glass blocks UVB. And it could increase temperatures too much.
If the window is open, some UVB might get in but you have to also watch temps.
