Cage direction

Ok so i have a 36x18x18 enclosure and yes i know it's not the right size but thats going to change soon but anyway my parents are telling me to lay the cage down so its long in stead of tall i told them you can't because they are arboreal and they argued that you can so i need some clarrification that you can or can't

Pothos are a fantastic chameleon plants that are cheap, viney and beautiful. I had a big one I cut into 3 and it’s growing beautifully. And it’s okay if your cham accidentally eats them, but not recommended. 😂 Loki loves to sleep and walk around/or on the vines and leaves.

I got mine from Home Depot or Lowes but if you don’t have any of those you can probably go to a plant shop or even get on from Josh's Frogs which is a website that you are guaranteed to get your plant in good health. I don’t know if your local grocery store may have some too, mine does. And thanks for that wonderful compliment on Loki. ❤️

Great! Don’t forget to send pictures so we can see how wonderful your enclosure looks with all the nice plants! I also found this on chameleon academy:

Walmart usually carries pathos too! I picked a nice one up there the other day for like ten bucks. Or if you know someone who has one, ask them for some clippings so you can start your own plants.

Considering your enclosure I agree with @elizaann2 100%. As you said, they're arboreal. So, with a smaller enclosure, you definitely want the enclosure to be upright and tall as possible.

With that being said (IDK if it's too late if you already order/started building a new enclosure), I definitely see a major difference in having an enclosure that's also wide. Spike seems to really enjoy exploring his enclosure. I built my own at 36"x24"x48". And as big as it is, I can not imagine having Spike in anything smaller.

If I were to build a new enclosure, it would likely be more like 48"x36"x48". I don't see the need to go even higher than 48", but I think having ample space for your chameleon to roam can go a long way. The only area he's never been has been down near the bottom. He's been all over up top, climbing his screen, all over the middle section, and he gets pretty low sometimes but never goes beyond where all of his branches are, really. I watch him all day while I'm at work so I have a very good eye on him. I know almost his every move :ROFLMAO:
