Burrr cold cage and want to save electric

Right now I'm running a 24" t5 6% uv light and daylight combo, I'm also running 2 yes 2 150w lights on my Jackson's cage and his ambient temps are still at 63-65. It's cold here in jersey and running these bulbs is running up the electric bill. Is there a hotter light that I can run one light instead of 2? I don't want to burn my little guy but I don't want to burn the wallet every month either :(

Have you checked that your thermometer is accurate? I am not sure how 2 150 watt bulbs would not maintain a decent amount of heat. I am not sure how cold it is inside your house, but this seems off. Also what are you doing for heat at night since you cannot use the light bulbs at night?

Also just so you know, even with high electric rates it is likely only a couple cents to a few cents per hour to run the bulb, therefore these light bulbs are not effecting your bill that much.

It is probably around a dollar or so a day to run the 150 watt bulbs.

I agree with pigglett. 1 dollar a day IF that.
I oiled definitely get another thermometer to check with it does sound off. How cold do you keep your house ambient temp?

Also you could try to raise your basking spot if it is not too close already. Do you have a pic of your set up

Yeah I think my thermometer was off... I have another one set up and it's a lot better. What thermometers do you guys recommend?
