Burns or no?

I really hope that these are not actually burns but to be sure i wanted to ask here. There is some darkening on his spine behind his head and some browning on his head.

I think this is normal coloration coming in. What is your basking spot temp? Can we see a pic from the side?

Just now took this? Would you like to see the setup too? I've never posted any of his cage on here before.

Just check the temp at the perch where he sits to bask and check the species basking temp (in the care article under the Resources tab) is on the warm side, raise the light up off the cage a little or lower the perch a little just in case.

I concur w/ the above. Check your basking site temps and confirm with the care sheets for veilds. Ideally, you'll have a dimmer switch on the basking light and can adjust the temp. w/ that. If not, lower the basking branch, or raise the light. Let us know how it turns out.
