So I come home from work yesterday and check on the kids, Smeagie is perched with nose to the cage door, front and center as usual in his 'I wanna come
out now" pose.
Few minutes later, he is in his favorite sleeping spot deep in the foliage back
of the cage.
I'm thinking, WTF!! then noticed his 40W basking bulb had burned out (after only 4 months!) and he was not able to thermoregulate maybe all day!!??
Being only 4 more hours until bedtime and light out, I quickly replaced the bulb and turned it on and turned the room heat up as well.
He was still in his sleeping spot when the timer shut the lights off and looked weak, one leg and one foot just dangling.
This morning, I made sure the room would stay warm, he was asleep and hadnt moved at all, and I left for work at 6am.
The lights are programed to come on at 7am and I hope he will be able to gather the strenth to climb up to his basking spot!!??
