Burned back and casque

Yesterday I happened upon a male Veiled that has burned on his back and casque. So of course, favoring the underdog, I took him home. His burns are mostly healed as far as I can tell and he is super sweet.

I was wondering if any of you have any advise on helping him back to full health. He doesn't look too bad but you can tell he is a little dehydrated and malnourished. My plan was just that getting him in proper housing, lighting and on a better diet that he will thrive, even if a bit deformed. I just want to give him a happy life, better than where he was. I am familiar with Chams and I have had Veileds.

Here are a few pics of the burns.

The burn looks like it was pretty bad, but it doesn't look open or infected. If it is dry and not draining anything I would say leave it be. He also looks a bit skinny but not terribly dehydrated. I would just feed him as much as he wants to eat for now until he puts on some weight. Maybe some extra misting or time in the shower for hydration. I think I would try to get some hornworms or silkworms too as they can help rehydrate him. You should also fill out the how to ask for help form to tell the forum about the living conditions you will be providing. That way they can tell you if it is ok or give suggestions to help him improve faster by adjusting something. Good luck with him.

aw poor guy. im glad your heart is so big. hopefully you will aid him in a full recovery. i want updates!

Thank you, I thought it looked like a bad one too but there is not seeping just crusty looking skin. I will post my set up info this afternoon when I get off work.

Thanks for your advice thus far. He is eating pretty good, the relocation didn't seem to stress him out enough not to eat. He ate about 10 small dubia yesterday!
