Buried eggs to hatching

I have 56 eggs that are 6 months old and decided to try a slightly buried gestation. 3/26 was when they were laid. I left a few partly exposed (top layer) but most are under vermiculite. I am getting nervous.... Has anyone done this before and what was the outcome?

I'm actually glad to see that someone did this. I am very interested in your outcome. I don't think it should be to bad. What temps are you keeping them? I kinda wondered if the temps should be higher or lower to help compensate for the eggs in the middle etc. This is how it's done in the wild and it has worked for them. So I don't see why it wouldn't work for you

I keep them in the closet with the rest of my eggs. The closet stays at about 75 degrees all the time.

I took the advice of my friend who has hatched 100s of panther eggs that way. All my eggs incubating are first clutches this year. I have veiled eggs at the longest incubation time line so far at 6 months, and I've check them a few times throughout and the eggs all are still ok.

i believe Jim over at the chameleoncompany does this once in a while... i have spoken to him over the phone about it... pretty cool that ur trying it! i havnt done it this way..

i think ppl dont do it just in case one gets really bad (lots of mold and such)... it wont effect any of the others.. although if that were the common case this species wouldnt exist!

MOST of my eggs are about .5 inch deep but i still have perfect view of them

Will do. I am starting to see some green through the shell so I know there is a baby in there. (I love this stage) I will keep you posted when there are any changes.

If I remember right, I read somewhere that Cain has his about 90% under, so he can just see the tops.
