Bumps on ribs

Just noticed my girl's ribs and I thought these bumps looked strange. Is this normal? What could be wrong?

This is just based on the picture, but it looks she may have broken some ribs. The ribs are fairly thin and can sometimes break. If and when breaks occur the healing process forms a hard callused area at the break. This is what I see in your picture. I tend to notice this more when they are young and handled improperly. So, she may have sustained this injury prior to you having her.

I agree with jpowell86. Her ribs look fractured pretty badly. Was he ever dropped, or maybe fell off of a branch? Tiny siblings with wondering hands? You should probably go to a vet and see what they can do. Also, has she ever birthed any eggs? I hope she's ok and that you figure this out :)

Did these bumps show up recently or did she have them when you got her? If they are not new, they have probably already callused, so won't need any treatment per se. Their ribs are not true bone, they flex more like cartilage. However, fractures are a sign that her bone density is low, so you'll want to make sure you are providing the correct supplements/gutload nutrition to prevent more in future. Her legs don't look as if she has serious MBD however. Describe your supplement schedule and what you gutload with.

I gutload my crickets with kale greens and flukers calcium gel. she also gets a mix of other worms like super worms, wax worms, and butter worms for added nutrition. I dust her crickets and worms with calcium without d3 nearly every feed and a dusting of vitamins with d3 every other week or twice a month or so. I feed her in the morning before I go to work around 6:30-7am so she has the entire day to digest. I'm quite sure she's getting enough calcium in her diet. You can even see the white crust coming out of her nostrils indicating excessive nutrients? I got her when she was about 5 months and she may have taken a couple falls since I got her. When she started her gravid stage she was extremely restless trying to climb out of the cage and moving around everywhere. I'm gone at work all day so she might have fallen in her cage and I would never know it. I believe she is about 10-12 months now. The bumps don't seem to cause her any pain, she moves quite swiftly. but I just noticed them the other day when she flexes her body one way or another; you can't see them very well unless she twists or thins her casque. She just recently laid 39 healthy unfertilized eggs and came out of it like nothing happened. I made sure to give her plenty of calcium and water after she came out of her birthing process. She is never weak and is always hungry. I worry that I over feed her sometimes though since she seems a bit fat? but maybe I should feed her more?

Well, hard to say why she has these "fractures" but the point is, she is getting calcium now, they don't seem to be bothering her, and she is healthy otherwise. Maybe they were from an accident in the past. They might be small calcium deposits...just hard to say. The fact that she laid her clutch easily without any problems and recovered well speak to her health. Doesn't sound like she needs more food...39 eggs is a decent size clutch. You don't want larger ones. A little hunger isn't all bad. One thing you might do is use a better quality feeder gutload so the feeders she does get are more valuable. The forum sponsors offer several great ones many of us use.
