Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled chameleon 1.5 years old. Male I'v had him pretty much the whole time.
Handling - once a month at most
Feeding - 15-20 Large crickets every day. I feed the crickets crushed up cat food.
Supplements - calcium w/ D3 3 Days a week. I put it into a different container, so I don't know the brand.
Watering - I have a humidifier with tubing going into the top of his enclosure. Water dips down the branches all day. I mist the cage once a day usually, but the humidity is always above 65% usually around 80%
Fecal Description - Brown and white. Never tested for parasites.
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen cage I built 36x24x48
Lighting - I use all living things UVB 10 tube style bulb. He spends most of his time directly in it's light. I also have two heat lamps at the top of the enclosure
Temperature - Usually right around 90 in the basking spot. Gets down to about 77 at the bottom of the enclosure.
Humidity - Like I said in the watering section, I have a humidifier and a digital thermometer and humidity gauge. humidity is never lower than 65%. When I mist it gets up above 90% for a while. Usually it's right around 80%
Plants - no live plants
Placement - In my reptile room on a shelf. No fans, not near any vents. Top of cage is around 7 ft off the ground.
Location - Southeastern United States
My veild is about a year and a half old. He has been very healthy until today I noticed a bump on his face and he is extremely lethargic. It is possible this may have been going on longer and I didn't notice. His grip is very weak and he seems not to have very much strength. one side of his mouth right along the edge looks infected and is kind of sticking out a little with some brown coloration. The discoloration is about an inch long and is paper thin. I got him to open his mouth, and the rest of the inside looks normal. I noticed he didn't eat yesterday and that's why I took a better look at him. I was able to get him to eat 8 crickets, but it seemed very difficult for him and he only would eat if I put the cricket two inches in front of his face.
I'm taking him to a vet tomorrow afternoon, but I just wanted to stop by and see if anyone had any idea what is going on.
He has been healthy his entire life and I haven't changed anything at all except light bulbs every few months.
Edit: When I say lethargic, I mean he is super weak. I'm afraid he is going to fall off a branch.
Edit2: I just read the "how to ask for help thread" Give me a few minutes
