Bulging Head

Hello,

I have a Veiled Cham and lately the back of his crest has been bulging out a bit. I was just wonder what could be causing this. He seems completely fine. He is eating and drinking water. It has been hot here in CA, but his cage hasn't gotten over 91 degrees at the hottest point.

Do anyone have any ideas??

Thanks for your help!

This could just be old age. I have seen this before but i honestly have no explanation for this. Was there any behavior changes? He looks fine.
Thank you for your response! He seems like his normal self, but now his whole head is all bulgy and poofy... I think he is only about 2 at the very oldest.

Do you feed a lot of super worms?

That is either fat or fluid. They can lay fat down on their casque.

He eats super worms and crickets, but prefers the worms for sure. I try to give him a healthy mix of both, but he likes the worms a lot more.

I've heard they get a bloated casque when fed a lot of superworms. My veiled did the same thing after I started feeding him superworms.

I know this is totally off topic, but I wanted to comment on your profile picture and tried to go to your profile's albums to do it and there was no option to do so. Odd.... you must not have any albums?

But anyways, I LOVE that pic. Wicked cool. Jus sayin (y)

I agree it looks more like he's storing a bit of extra fat there, however if it starts swelling faster than its possible to put weight down thenough I would consider taking in you chameleon.
