"Bulgie" eye...

... Ok, so I know chameleons do naturally have "bulgie" eyes but I've noticed that when mine blinks his right eye a bulge pushes out the side of his head... like the eyeball is being pushed back. Also, he tends to keep it closed a lot.... I can't see any puss or irregularitys but its just bugging me that something is obviously wrong with it.

He has just recently shed so I'm wondering if some skin may have got in his eye, as during shedding he was scratching his face (especially his right eye) against the twigs in his tank.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys :)

Hello, It is probably irritated or has something in it. The push out thing is an attempt for him to clean its eye. A few extra mistings a day should help him clear it up. If he continues to close the eye you may need to see a vet.

Also, This can happen when a fan is blowing on them. Sometimes the strong wind can blow dust or other irritants in the eye.

twist the end of your mister until you can get the smallest water vapour coming out of the end and just do a quick mist in that eye and get everything soft and loosend up , and do this 3 or 4 times a day, my female nosy be had this same problem after sheding and just a few extra misting and she got it out but if this worsens then a vet check up is needed ASAP!
