Well i just moved into a new house, i used to have a huge closet lined with plastic and a screen front for Her, but because of the move i had to build a new enclosure for Her...

I couldnt get any pics of Her as the live ficus is very thick so you rarely see Her, but here is some pics of the enclosure... its 6ft tall, 3.75ft wide, and almost 3ft deep.... I used 2x2's, then plastic over all of it cept the front, then screen over everything, then made a big plastic bottom inside the enclosure, stapled velcro to the front of the enclosure and to the screen and the bottom screen in the front unvelcros seperate from the top screen, added lighting, a 5ft live ficus, vines, and a egg laying tote, same setup as she used to have but all brand new, $200 total... shes almost 3.5 years old now

Let me know what you think...

That looks pretty neat! Couple questions: Are you not worried about her getting burned by the light? Why velcro? Just curious... :)

no she doesnt get close enouph to the 60w bulb to get burned also i use a inferred temp gun to do it all properly, its the same distance as her old heat light she has used for 3 years... velcro to me is just easier, i go in and just pull it open top or bottom, and it seals very well and she cant get out either cause it leaves no gaps... its what i did in her old enclosure and really like it...

oh my gosh, that light is an accident waiting to happen especially with that cord that she could climb onto and get access to the light. Please take it out of the enclsoure and put it on the top. If she was to fall onto that dome it would fry her. They get SO hot. Your chameleon does not have spurs right? You chameleon has bars like the males, that is why I am asking.

she used to climb all over her other one for 3 years and never got bunred, she only does it when she is gravid, but yeah never had her get burned before and ive seen her on it i dont even know hundreds of times over the years... i can physically grab it and hold it, its hot but i can hold it without getting burned....

id think if it was a accident waiting to happen it would have happened in three years now and hasnt

well, I guess you are right then if it has been like that for three years. My domes are hot when I touch them. Too hot to keep my hand on. Just trying to look out for the welfare of your chameleon. and if your chameleon has been gravid, then you know its a girl. Most of the females don't seem to have bars like that.
