Okay, so here we go.
As mentioned earlier my daughter and I are getting a chameleon, she’s almost twelve and a great kid. We searched for Veiled breeders high and low always thinking that FLChams appeared to be the best of the “commercial” breeders.
She wasn't in love with what the had available and we had some time (a planned vacation, research, and enclosure and supplies to gather and assemble. We got back from vacation and promptly started to assemble all of our waiting goods.
Then, Tuesday night she sees that they have fresh 2 month baby Naval Bloodlines, her favorite of all the genetic offerings! Not wanting to miss out, I text flchams, no response. So later that nigh I order a little boy and include the message in the comments to please contact me prior to shipping. At this point he’s paid for and I have a generic confirmation email, great! I figure I’ll set up deliver for early next week, give us a chance to button up the details, get food, and from what I’ve seen, shipping seems to be more reliable earlier in the week.
Wake up Wednesday to an email from UPS saying I have a shipment from FLChams, delivery for Thursday by 10:30!!! Leave work early, get Penelope, run to get crickets and dubia roaches and gutt loading supplies because the fridge is still empty from vacation... We finish everything up around 10:30 wed. night, 12 hours to go, we’re pumped!
Get up Thur am, I go to work planning to be home by ten. Then UPS email, severe weather delay...long story shorten’d, he’s sitting in Milwaukee as I type. Delay 24hrs. until tomorrow.
Finally got a little communication from FLChams. I missed their call, after I had texted them between calls to UPS. They then sent me text briefly assuring me he would be alright and that he was on vacation down in the Keys.
No pick up options, we’re stuck hopefully waiting to see if he’s okay. Sounds like there’s a pretty decent chance he’ll be okay.
