broken t5 lamp

I bought a t5 arcadia uvb lamp and arrived broken, like cracked. I noticed to late. I ordered some cork bark that I heat treated in my kitchen oven and after that I open the packaged of thw lamp and saw it was broken. I ordered the lamp and the cork bark from the same place so they where shipped on the same box, the cork bark was packaged on a net bag and the uvb lamp had som cartong around it. So my cpncwer is for the health of my animals, the cork may have been soak on the mercury of the lamp tha broke? or absorved? should I just throw the whole thing? because that bark was gona go to the feeders container. And now my oven, kitchen and floor where the mercury could have been spilled. Does any one know how to clean that? has that happen to anyone?

I think if you are not comfortable with it then don't risk it.

I personally feel like a cracked bulb in packaging separate from the rest would not concern me. Now if the bulb was shattered then I would personally throw out everything because you can never see those shards of glass to make sure something is safe.

If the bulb was in wrapping and the cork was then you should be fine.

There isn't enough mercury in only one bulb to cause any harm, just throw it and the box away. It would take a lot of bulbs to cause any harm.
