Broken AC, chameleon overheating

My AC just broke and my thermometer is measuring the temp at 85 in the house. I went to Waldo and he opened his mouth like he was yawning. Im thinking that he is overheating. I turned off his basking light in the meantime. Should I temporarily put a fan near his cage to cool him off, or will that stress him out too much?

edit: Maybe I should open the fridge and stand near it so he'll get some of the cool air?

Mist more. If it's really bad, I would consider violating the "no ice dripper" code and putting ice on top of the cage. If you have any of those "blue ice" or other such things, putting those on top would probably help as the cool air will go down.

If he is constantly yawning he is over heating. I would put him in a cold shower until you can fix your AC. If Waldo is a Panther Chameleon he should be OK at 85F for a while just make certain he is not yawning continuously for a long period of time.

What kind of chameleon is Waldo?
